If you wish to take a short walk- either to build up an appetite or to walk off a good lunch- try the following:
Turn left out of the pub, follow the road round to the right, past the butcher and post office and then pass to the right of the band stand. This route will take you through to the church. Keep the church on your right and follow the Public Footpath signs through the recreation ground and along the path alongside some paddocks, through various pedestrian gates.
To return to the pub, turn left away from the paddocks through another gate at a beech hedge, pass by a charming black and white house on your left, down Nine Chimneys Lane back onto the High St. Turn left and you will find yourself back at the band stand. So follow the road round past the post office and butcher again and back to the pub.
